20 Key Commands I Wish I Knew Sooner...

 One thing that has helped me save time in my DAW while producing and mixing is getting a strong grasp of "key commands" or "keyboard shortcuts" that turn several clicks in the DAW into one short click. For example, when I started using Pro Tools and Logic for the first time, I made cue cards to write down and memorize key commands that would help my efficiency in the Software. Over time, knowing your DAW's keyboard shortcuts not only saves hours of clicking around, but also makes the DAW an extension of you. After a short time of practicing with these commands, muscle memory takes over and you begin to work quickly and efficiently without even thinking about it. 

This is why I want to ask you to join me in a quick, simple and incredibly rewarding challenge...

Research and write down on a piece of paper 10-20 new key commands in your DAW (that you don't yet know) that will help you work more quickly and efficiently, and leave the paper next to your keyboard as you work on music this week. Doing this will take you about 5 minutes, but will easily save you hours in the weeks ahead of producing and mixing. Trust me when I say key commands are vital to any producer or mixers' skillset.
